1975 - Early Years

Michael Corless started as an apprentice carpenter and soon progressed to vice president of construction operations, working with a number of local San Diego residential remodeling & commercial construction operations. 

During Mike Corless’ early years in the building trades he worked during the day and attended numerous trade and business courses offered by City, State, Mesa, and UCSD colleges. Along with technical trade and business knowledge gained from academic training, he achieved a reputation as a highly skilled ‘hands-on’ craftsman in the residential and commercial building trades. Mike was especially known for his ability to effortlessly construct complex large scale room additions, custom homes, and fast paced tenant improvement projects. He easily tackled specialty projects, including challenging hill-side concrete caisson foundation operations, artistic and complex open beam roof systems, and resolving difficult water intrusion mysteries.

1982 - Construction Masters / Building Technologies

Michael Corless passed the State of California’s General Building Contractor’s License Exam and started his sole proprietor business under the name Construction Masters Company, later to become Building Technologies. The State Contractors License Board awarded Building Technologies the Contractor’s License B Classification Number 419334 on March 11, 1982.

1992 - “A” Classification

In 1992 Mike Corless passed the State of California’s General Engineering Contractor’s Exam, and received his “A” General Engineering License classification. During this time he also worked as a state licensed Responsible Managing Officer and Vice President of Operations for various real estate companies in 
San Diego. Operations included the engineering development and home construction of numerous infill communities and the construction of hundreds of semi-custom homes.

1998 - RCM Properties, LLC

The real estate development company RCM Properties, LLC was founded by Mike Corless in 1998.

 He controlled all operations of RCM’s investments. This included custom home speculation projects, 
infill subdivision acquisition and development ventures, and “fixer” homes (purchase / renovate / sell projects). Starting in 1998, all construction operations were contracted through Building Technologies Company and after 2004 by BuildTech Unlimited, Inc.

2004 - BuildTech Unlimited, Inc.

BuildTech Unlimited, Inc. was founded by Mike Corles in 2004.

 As a result of Building Technologies’ continued growth, Mike Corless converted construction operations from the status of a Sole Proprietorship to a State of California Corporation, assuming the name of BuildTech Unlimited, Inc.
The Contractors State License Board issued a new Contractor’s License Number to BuildTech Unlimited, Inc. on April 1, 2004 – License No: A B 835149. 

BuildTech Unlimited expanded operations to include: road and infrastructure engineering construction, 
infill subdivision acquisition and land development projects, large tenant improvement assignments, 
custom home design/build assignments, and residential remodeling jobs.


Today BuildTech Unlimited, Inc’s operations involve design/build custom home assignments, residential remodeling projects, commercial tenant improvements, and insurance reconstruction projects.
